Here in Southeast Alaska, we don't tan, we rust.
While the temperate rainforest we call home is a productive ecosystem that provides the perfect protective environment for our wild salmon streams, it can be pretty rough to dress for the weather. That's why we're so excited about this particular Salmon Hat. It's the type of cut you'd find on the hipster-lined streets of the Pacific Northwest, but with the coveted "tin cloth" material that repels rain and keeps our heads warm and dry in a serious downpour.
In salute of our island's small-craft commercial fishing fleet, we've even added a nautical ropeline where the bill meets the base of the cap. The waxed cotton canvas holds up to the elements and gets better with age. Apply your own beeswax to maintain water and dirt resistance.
